Trieste Café & Wine Bar

Trieste Café & Wine Bar Opened on Valentines Day 2020. It was a dream to open our own cozy and cute Café & Wine Bar.

Our inspiration – Trieste in North-East Italy, famous for its visual splendor, gilded angels, sunrise-coloured facades, a port city of latticed alleyways and hushed boulevards. And home to James Joyce in his earlier years!

Trieste is nestled on Buttermilk Walk, just off Galway’s main thoroughfare, in the shadow of The Augustinian Church – Our appetite is to create a European styled Café Bar.

Bright, airy and spacious by day; warm, enchanting and relaxed by night.

We started our now famous Trieste Sharing Boxes in April 2020 to keep busy during Covid times, and we were amazed at the response. They are now available 7 days a week on our Online Ordering Website.

In service, both Indoors and on our heated outdoor area. Thursday 5pm Friday 5pm Saturday 4pm Sunday 4pm

Serving seasonal charcuterie & cheese boards, using fresh Irish produce, along with cured meats from the continent. A carefully selected wine list combining Old World classics and a New World sense of adventure.

We really hope you enjoy our taste of all things Italy, Spain & France.

Daróg Wine Bar

Galway’s new wine bar, Daróg (‘small oak tree’), on Lower Dominick Street is an intimate space offering a wide range of artisan, biodynamic, organic and natural wines, and a selection of hot/cold plates, cheese & meat boards.

Daróg is a labour of love for husband-and-wife team Zsolt Lukács & Edel McMahon-Lukács. Zsolt, a sommelier for twelve years in the Michelin-starred Aniar Restaurant, has carefully curated a wine list that promotes unique wines from small producers off the beaten track.

And Edel, with over fifteen years of design and marketing experience working with top-tier restaurants including Aniar, Cava Bodega, Armorica and il Vicolo, is channeling her passion for food, nature and local produce into Daróg.

The Kitchen is led by Attila Galambos, the three-time finalist in the prestigious Euro Toques Ireland and former sous chef for Aniar. Originally from Hungary, Attila combines his culinary experience in France, Japan, Denmark and Ireland with local suppliers and produce to guarantee that this “small oak tree” stays true to its roots, right here in the West of Ireland.

Daróg is open 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday. Tuesday to Thursday: 5pm to late
Friday & Saturday: 3pm to late. For bookings visit our website: www.darogwinebar.com/reservations

It’s all hands on deck at these restaurants, with their busy takeaway service and generous selection of seafood and gluten free options available on all of their menus.

BóTOWN

Burgers and beers bring people together and the seeds for BóTOWN were first sown during one of our summer barbecue parties. Our menu includes beef, chicken and veggie burgers as well as a wide range of side dishes such as Chicken Wings, Charred Corn on the Cob and Mac n Cheese Bacon Balls.

BóTOWN was a labour of love for us. The building is a protected structure and it took us two years to get it up and running. Our budget was tight so we did the whole clear-out ourselves. People thought we were mad to take it on but we had a vision and our motto was simple: dream BIG and never give up.

“We couldn’t have been happier when we finally opened the doors in July 2018 and we hope you’re as happy with the finished product as we are”.
