Trieste Café & Wine Bar Opened on Valentines Day 2020. It was a dream to open our own cozy and cute Café & Wine Bar.
Our inspiration – Trieste in North-East Italy, famous for its visual splendor, gilded angels, sunrise-coloured facades, a port city of latticed alleyways and hushed boulevards. And home to James Joyce in his earlier years!
Trieste is nestled on Buttermilk Walk, just off Galway’s main thoroughfare, in the shadow of The Augustinian Church – Our appetite is to create a European styled Café Bar.
Bright, airy and spacious by day; warm, enchanting and relaxed by night.
We started our now famous Trieste Sharing Boxes in April 2020 to keep busy during Covid times, and we were amazed at the response. They are now available 7 days a week on our Online Ordering Website.
In service, both Indoors and on our heated outdoor area. Thursday 5pm Friday 5pm Saturday 4pm Sunday 4pm
Serving seasonal charcuterie & cheese boards, using fresh Irish produce, along with cured meats from the continent. A carefully selected wine list combining Old World classics and a New World sense of adventure.

Welcome to Meltd, founded in 2022 by Steve and Jason, two local lads with a love for the food industry. We are located in Middle street, right in the heart of Galway City. We offer a range of Meltd Sandwiches, Specialty coffees, baked goods and delicious sweet treats all made in house. So pop in for you’re coffee fix or some munch on the go.

Phi’s kitchen is led by head chef Damien Martin. Working as a professional chef for over 18 years he has passed through some of the top restaurants in the world. Up until recently, Damien was sous chef in the one Michelin starred restaurant Loam here in Galway, which received an Ireland and UK sustainability award. He has also worked abroad notably at David Thompson’s one Michelin-starred restaurant Nahm in Bangkok, which climbed to 26th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurant List. While in Australia for 3 years, Damien worked in Perth’s 3 hatted restaurant Star Anise.

Tribal Foods was established in 2014 by husband & wife team, Liam and Theresa Heneghan, to create a unique range of sauces, jams & chutneys made using produce grown on their farm in Athenry.
The Heneghan family built their first glasshouse in Galway in 1935 and are the largest glasshouse growers in the West of Ireland. All the crops are still soil-grown traditionally, and sustainability is the cornerstone of production. The main crops grown on the farm are tomatoes, peppers & chillies, but also grow a large range of other fruit, vegetables and herbs for use in their sauces.
As all of their sauces are designed around the fruit & vegetables grown on the farm, this has led to a selection of original recipes with a flavour profile all of their own, like the award-winning ‘Strawberry Chilli Dressing’ and ‘Red Pepper Jam’.
No artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives are used and everything is made in small batches on the farm.
Micil Distillery was named in honour of our great-great-great grandfather, Micil Mac Chearra, who began distilling illicit poitín in 1848 on a Connemara hillside. Our family have been crafting exceptional Irish spirits on the shores of Galway Bay ever since, and we represent Ireland’s longest unbroken family distilling tradition. For over 170 years our family have preserved these traditions, skills and recipes, handing them down by word of mouth through the Irish language from generation to generation.

Woodberrys is a local Galway owned wine shop and importer that specializes in sustainable, high quality wine made by small producers with honesty, innovation and tradition. We use these principles in the context of new wines, new regions and new styles to keep exploring the boundaries of the wine world.
Multi-award winning, second generation, family run business since 1979. With quality at the core of everything we do, we source the finest, fresh ingredients from the wild Atlantic. Using traditional methods and all natural ingredients, we prepare the finest smoked and marinated seafood available. Our products include smoked salmon, honey roast smoked salmon, smoked tuna and smoked mackerel.
The fish are filleted by hand and are then ready for dry salting. The fish are then gently smoked using beechwood to give a beautiful, delicate flavour and texture that simply melts in your mouth.
