Gourmet Game Ltd.

My current business started about 10 years ago. After a lifetime of hunting and fishing, I realised that wild game particularly, was not being utilised to its full potential. From an early age, I have been a strong advocate of wild game. I began by supplying pigeon crowns to places like The Ardilaun, Lisoughrey House (now known as the Lodge in Ashford) and to Knockranny House in Westport. ‘ Word of mouth’ spread among the chefs about this fantastic product and soon afterwards, I was asked about the possibility of supplying other wild game products. Because of my contacts in the shooting fraternity, this was easily done.

10 years later, we are supplying wild game to more than 50 high-end hotels/restaurants all over Ireland. Our Customers include Aniar, Lignum, Ashford Castle, The Lodge in Ashford, Kai, Eán, Dromoland Castle and Thyme in Athlone to mention but a few.

There is also a branch of our business that caters for domestic orders, these can be shipped using our courier service around the country. Our products include Venison, Pheasant, Mallard, Partridge, Woodpigeon, Teal, Wigeon, and Rabbit. Our policy in Gourmet Game is very simple. Our raw products are all sourced in Ireland and are sold fresh. Our business is fully approved and subject to weekly inspections by a veterinary inspector.

Beechlawn Organic Farm

Ár Scéal. Is breá linn an nádúr. Tá bithéagsúlacht iontach againn mar táimid orgánach. Bíonn 30% níos mó polaineoirí beo ar ár feirm mar gheall ar sin. We are a biodiversity-friendly farm in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Beechlawn Organic Farm is a limited company started by husband & wife, Padraig Fahy and Úna Ní Bhroin in 2002. In 2023 we have a team of 20 super people working with us in the polytunnels, field, packhouse, office, sales and deliveries.
The seeds were first sown after Padraig and Úna met at The Organic College, Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick, and both qualified with Diplomas in Organic Horticulture. We started growing commercially in 2002, gradually building up the business since then. We sell our veg along with bought-in organic veg from other Irish growers and imported out-of-season fruit and veg from abroad. You can buy a home delivery veg box on our website, we also sell loose veg to speciality shops, restaurants, and market traders. We supply prepacked supermarket veg to shops around Ireland. In the polytunnels in Summertime, we have: courgette, cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes, scallions, and celery. In the Winter and Springtime, we grow salad leaves and spinach. Outside we grow beetroot, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celeriac, kale, lettuce, onions, parsnips, and turnips. Every year we take on one or two farm apprentices with the Organic Growers of Ireland apprenticeship scheme. We also teach courses in commercial organic horticulture in conjunction with NOTS the National Organic Training Scheme.

Tribal Foods/Heneghan’s Nurseries

Tribal Foods was established in 2014 by husband & wife team, Liam and Theresa Heneghan, to create a unique range of sauces, jams & chutneys made using produce grown on their farm in Athenry.

The Heneghan family built their first glasshouse in Galway in 1935 and are the largest glasshouse growers in the West of Ireland. All the crops are still soil-grown traditionally, and sustainability is the cornerstone of production. The main crops grown on the farm are tomatoes, peppers & chillies, but also grow a large range of other fruit, vegetables and herbs for use in their sauces.

As all of their sauces are designed around the fruit & vegetables grown on the farm, this has led to a selection of original recipes with a flavour profile all of their own, like the award-winning ‘Strawberry Chilli Dressing’ and ‘Red Pepper Jam’.

No artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives are used and everything is made in small batches on the farm.
