The Galway Guide to Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Galway is emerging as a leader in Ireland’s evolving alcohol-free drinks culture

The Best Alcohol Free Drinks in Galway.

Working with botanicals, ferments and seasonal ingredients, chefs, bartenders and sommeliers across Galway are reimagining what it means to drink without alcohol. They draw from nearby landscapes, long traditions of making, and a renewed respect for craft.

We have been exploring menus, tasting widely, and speaking with our members about the imagination and skill now shaping zero-proof choices throughout Galway.

From house ferments to alcohol-free classics that hold their own at the table, this guide is an invitation to drink thoughtfully in a place that increasingly knows how.

What appears here is more than a list of substitutes. It is a portrait of a living food culture where seasonality matters, and where environment influences what arrives in the glass.

At Blas na Gaillimhe, we believe that a good drink loses none of its pleasure in the absence of alcohol!

Enjoy!

Aniar Restaurant

The Aniar juice pairing. It speaks in plants, seasons, soils, and subtle acts of attention.

The Aniar juice pairing is not an alternative to wine; it is a parallel language. It speaks in plants, seasons, soils, and subtle acts of attention.

Each juice begins not with sweetness but with landscape, a question of where this flavour lives, how it grows, and what it has to say when left largely alone.

These juices are built the way dishes are built at Aniar: by listening first.

Carrot and rose balances earth and perfume, grounding sweetness with restraint.

Celeriac and pine is green, resinous, and sharp, like a walk through woodland after rain.

Beetroot with dillisk brings iron-rich depth and the Atlantic together, the land meeting the shore in a way that feels distinctly Irish.

Pear and heather is soft, floral, and pastoral, echoing late summer fields and uplands.

Blackcurrant with woodruff is dark and hedgerow-driven, tart and medicinal, while apple with meadowsweet finishes with clarity, orchard fruit lifted by wild sweetness.

Fermentation, infusion, and gentle preservation techniques are used not to obscure but to reveal. Sugar is never the point. Balance is. Acidity replaces tannin; texture replaces alcohol; length replaces weight. Each juice is designed to move with food, not dominate it, to refresh, to reset, to carry flavour forward.

In Ireland, we have a deep but often overlooked tradition of non-alcoholic drinks: herb waters, shrubs, cordials, hedgerow infusions, medicinal teas. This pairing quietly reconnects with that lineage, placing it in a contemporary dining context without nostalgia or pastiche.

Taken together, the juices form a seasonal arc, from root to leaf, from field to forest edge, from sweetness to bitterness. They offer another way of tasting Ireland, one that is sober, precise, and deeply attentive to place.

Cava Bodega

Non-alcoholic wine, cocktails and cider at Cava Bodega

At Cava Bodega, the approach to non-alcoholic drinks is generous and considered. As well as lemonades and apple juice, there is alcohol-free gin, Estrella 0%, and Stonewell Cider NA.

But it is the wine list that reveals the ambition:

Hollow Leg Albariño is a de-alcoholised wine with a gentle, fresh aroma of green apple that leads to a bright, dry and crunchy palate finishing with clean elderflower and apple drop flavours.  There is also Vallformosa 0.0% Cava, a non-alcoholic sparkling drink from a producer with over 150 years of history.  It arrives with a soft citrus colour, aromas of white fruit evolving to banana, then tropical notes of pineapple and mango. It is smooth and pleasant, with good structure and a delicate, long-lasting aftertaste.

These are not approximations. They are wines made with attention, their alcohol removed without stripping away character. Vallformosa bases their company on people, innovation, sustainability and differentiation, and it shows in the glass.

Meet our Iced Mate Tea

The Brazilian Favorite, with a Irish touch

In Brazil, “Chá Mate” is the go-to drink for a refreshing boost. It’s famous for being served ice-cold on sunny beaches and busy streets. We wanted to bring that same refreshing feeling to our restaurant.

To recreate this famous flavor using the best local ingredients, we’ve crafted a special recipe that everyone will love.

What is Brazilian Chá Mate?

In Brazil, Chá Mate (pronounced shah-mah-tchee) is more than just a drink – it’s a national passion. While it comes from the same plant as the hot “Chimarrão” found in the south of the country, the iced version is the superstar of the warmer cities.

Why is it so famous?

If you visit Rio de Janeiro, you’ll see “Matteiros” (vendors) walking the sand with two large drums. One is filled with iced mate and the other with lemonade. They mix them perfectly into your cup right there!

Traditional mate is made from toasted Erva Mate leaves. It has an earthy, slightly smoky flavor that is different from green or black tea. It is naturally high in caffeine and antioxidants, making it the perfect “pick-me-up” for a long day.

Since toasted Erva Mate can be hard to find in local Irish shops, we use a high-quality Black Tea as our base. When mixed with peach and lemon, it creates a flavor that is incredibly close to the original “Mate com Limão” you would find in a Brazilian snack bar or beach.

It’s our way of serving a “slice of Brazil” using the ingredients we have right here in our Irish home!

What’s inside?

Our Iced Mate Tea is simple, fresh, and 100% alcohol-free:

  • Black Tea: A strong, smooth base that mimics the traditional mate flavor.
  • Concentrated Peach tea: For a touch of sweetness and a fruity aroma.
  • Fresh Lemon: To add a crisp, citrus finish.

It’s the perfect choice if you want something light and cooling to go with your meal. Whether you already love Brazilian culture or just want to try something new, come have a glass with us!

The Dáil Bar & The Liquor Lounge

The Sweet Escape at The Dáil Bar is exactly what its name promises. Built on Tanqueray 0.0 gin, it brings together Monin orgeat almond syrup, pineapple, lemon juice and honey and ginger syrup, finished with a cranberry float that adds both colour and tart sweetness. It’s tropical, balanced, and entirely moreish.

The drink is served both in The Dáil Bar and upstairs in The Liquor Lounge, a venue renowned for its drinks selection and multiple awards for cocktail creation.

Here, non-alcoholic options receive the same level of craft and creativity that has earned the bar its reputation.

Daróg Wine Bar

Daróg Wine Bar has two alcohol-free wines on the menu. Both from Kolonne Null, a producer working closely with European vineyards to retain varietal character while removing the alcohol.

Available by the glass is Kolonne Null Blanco, a Mosel Riesling. It’s bright and dry, with clean acidity.

Alongside it is Kolonne Null Cuvée Blanc No. 01, a sparkling blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc from Baden. Fine bubbles, dry, and structured.

Two thoughtful non-alcoholic wines that work well with Daróg’s small plates. Daróg also offer a small range of Irish soft drinks.

Hyde Bar

Passion Down Under at Hyde Bar is bright, tropical and seriously refreshing. Made with Clean & Co non-alcoholic rum, pineapple, lime, passion fruit and a touch of orgeat, it is one of the standout stars from their non-alcoholic cocktail menu. Perfect if you are skipping the alcohol but still want all the flavour and fun, it is just one of a delicious selection of cocktails waiting at Hyde.

Kombu Ramen & Bao Bar

At Kombu, cocktails are taken seriously, whether they contain alcohol or not. The non-alcoholic menu is given equal weight and equal craft, with three house creations that showcase the kitchen’s signature kombu-infused sugar syrup.

Non-alcoholic espresso Martini at Kombu in Galway

The Espresso Martini brings together vanilla, orange, hazelnut and coffee-infused non-alcoholic Tanqueray gin with house kombu sugar syrup and espresso.

The Amaretto Sour layers almond and orange-infused non-alcoholic gin with orgeat syrup, citrus, egg white and kombu sugar syrup.

The Gin Fizz combines non-alcoholic Tanqueray gin with lychee purée, shiso, cherry, citrus and kombu sugar syrup.

Beyond the cocktails, Kombu also serves their house Kombu Kola and a range of All About Kombucha flavours, as well as Asahi 0%.

McNeills

Cocktails at McNeills include this stunning mix of 00 Gin, mixed berry syrup, cranberry juice, pineapple juice and lime juice. It is fruity, bright, and well-balanced, a drink that works as easily on an occasion as it does on an ordinary evening.

McSwiggans

There is a quiet confidence to enjoying a great drink without alcohol, and McSwiggans in Woodquay understands that better than most. Served in thin-stemmed glassware and crystal tumblers, their no and low-alcohol options are treated with the same care and attention as any classic cocktail.

McSwiggans non-alcoholic mocktails.

Guests are loving the range of alcohol-free gins, carefully chosen beers and, of course, McSwiggans’ in-house mocktails. Here, the experience is everything. Perfect ice, beautiful glassware and an ice-cold serve elevate each drink into something considered and stylish. Whether it’s a botanical blend over ice or a refined mocktail in a crystal tumbler, this is non-alcoholic drinking done properly, right in the heart of Woodquay.

Radisson Red

Raspbery Cherry Soda at Radisson Red, in Galway

The Raspberry Cherry Soda at Radisson Red is built on house-made raspberry cordial, prepared with raspberries, hot water, fine sugar and citric acid. It is combined with 35ml Clean 00 Gin, 20ml lime juice, and topped with white lemonade. Simple, clean, and refreshing, it is a mocktail that respects the quality of its ingredients without unnecessary complication.

Solaris Tea

The Solaris Hibiscus Refresher is pure from leaf to cup. Made with two Solaris Berry Fruity Tea Bags, the blend contains rooibos, hibiscus, blueberries, lemongrass and orange peel. Steeped with dried rose petals in boiling water for five to seven minutes, it is then strained into a large glass and infused with raw local honey, fresh lemon juice, raw apple juice and a pinch of sea salt to enhance the botanicals.

Once the mixture is well combined, it is allowed to cool slightly before being poured over generous amounts of ice in a tall ribbed glass. The finishing touch is a fresh mint sprig and a sprinkle of rose petals. It is a drink that celebrates the quality of Irish ingredients, the ritual of tea making, and the beauty of something carefully prepared.

Thai Garden Galway

The Tamarind Margarita at Thai Garden Galway is a bold twist on a classic, balancing sweet, sour, and heat in all the right ways. Clean T tequila lays a smooth, crisp base, layered with house-made tamarind purée for deep, tangy richness. Fresh lime and a homemade chilli syrup balance the mocktail to perfection. It is confident, complex, and entirely its own thing.

Galway’s Best Small Plates, Natural and Organic Wines

A Spring Spotlight on Intimate Food Experiences in the West of Ireland

The West Coast of Ireland’s food culture is rooted in connection to place, to people, and to what’s in season. Whether it’s sipping biodynamic wine in a candlelit bar or enjoying hand-crafted small plates made with care, Galway offers a dining experience like no other.

This spring, we are shining a light on the spaces that keep things personal: smaller venues where creativity, quality, and local produce take centre stage. Rather than listing every restaurant in town, this series takes a more thoughtful approach — featuring just a few member venues each season to offer a deeper sense of what makes Galway so special.

So why the focus on small plates and natural, organic wines?

Small plates invite curiosity. They encourage sharing, conversation, and the pleasure of trying something new. Natural and organic wines — made with minimal intervention — reflect both the place and the people who craft them, whether from the hills of Spain or the vineyards of Slovenia. Together, they offer an experience that’s intimate, authentic, and deeply rooted in the West of Ireland, while embracing flavours from around the world.

Some people prefer the energy of livelier venues, while others are drawn to smaller, creative spaces — places where the food is personal, the welcome is warm, and the story behind each plate matters. This series is for those who appreciate the local, the sustainable, and beautifully crafted cuisine.

Dish: Wild venison loin, parsnip purée, baked parsnips, barbecued Uncle John kale (a heritage variety), venison sauce, parsley oil.

At Aniar, there is a deep commitment to seasonality and locally sourced ingredients. The team has worked with Beechlawn Farm in Ballinasloe for as long as they can remember. The quality of the ingredients grown there is consistently outstanding. Supporting local growers who follow organic methods allows Aniar not only to serve the freshest, most flavourful vegetables, but also to reduce packaging waste, which is a common issue when sourcing from larger distributors, where produce is often wrapped in plastic.

This dish is a perfect example of the restaurant’s philosophy: grounded in place, guided by the seasons, and elevated through technique.

Wine Pairing: Lusca Rondo 2018

Lusca Vineyard Wine and Venison with purple pink flowers and green sauce

Lusca Rondo, an Irish natural wine, showcases vibrant dark berry notes with subtle earthy undertones, reflecting its minimal-intervention craftsmanship. Its bright acidity and soft tannins complement the rich, gamey flavours of venison, while its natural freshness enhances the earthy depth of organic vegetable dishes.

This wine offers an elegant, Irish-crafted pairing that celebrates both sustainability and bold, natural flavours.

Seasonal Spotlight

The menu changes with the seasons, showcasing fresh local ingredients at their peak. With the arrival of spring, Daróg has introduced new small plates that celebrate vibrant fresh flavours and thoughtfully sourced produce. View the full menu here.

One of the highlights this season is their Dexter beef tartare, served with pickled mustard seeds and fried capers. The Dexter beef is sourced from Brave Herders, based in Millstreet, Co. Cork, who rear Native Irish Celtic Cattle in wild, wet, wooded areas of Brave Herder Farmlands. The cattle are ethically raised, free-range, and slow-maturing.

Perfect Pairing

This dish pairs beautifully with Roka RM, a wine made with Rumeni Muskat grapes by Irish couple Liam & Sinéad Cabot in Stajerska, Slovenia. Available by the glass in Daróg, the wine is impeccably fresh with floral notes and spends only a few days on the skins. Liam and Sinéad use biodynamic principles and craft their wines with minimal intervention.

Cava Bodega – Spanish Heart, West of Ireland Soul

Since opening in 2008, Cava Bodega has brought the bold, communal spirit of Spanish tapas to Galway with flavour, flair, and a deep love for both Spanish and Irish food traditions.

Founded by JP McMahon and Drigín Gaffey, the restaurant blends an award-winning tapas menu with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. With over 70 regional Spanish dishes on the menu, Cava’s drinks menu is entirely devoted to Spanish wine and sherry — with a focus on natural and organic wines. Their beers and ciders are a mix of Spanish and local craft.

One dish that perfectly captures the Cava ethos is their Salmorejo — a chilled tomato soup that is simple, refreshing, and ingredient-led:

Salmorejo Recipe

Salmorejo dish with fresh tomatoes

1kg high-quality organic tomatoes

200g stale bread

100g extra virgin olive oil

1 clove garlic

1 fresh chilli (seeds removed)

Fresh thyme

Salt & freshly ground black pepper

Method:
Chop all ingredients roughly and let them sit overnight in a large container. Blitz thoroughly the next day, adjust the thickness with water, and season to taste. Serve as cold as possible. (Chef’s tip: chill your serving bowls for extra creaminess.)

Cava sources tomatoes for this dish from Bullaun Ark Farm, where Charles Carr has spent the past five years transitioning to a regenerative, chemical-free approach to farming. His produce is as full of integrity as it is of flavour — and Cava has been proud to work with him for many seasons.

Wine Pairing:

To complement this summery dish, try the Sauvignon Blanc-Gewürztraminer blend from Bodegas Verum — a fresh and floral wine available from H2G Wines.

Cava Bodega is committed to supporting local & organic farmers incorporating the flavoursome, naturally grown & raised produce across the menu. We also carry the ethos across to our wine list featuring a wide range of natural, organic & biodynamic wines.

Chef’s NOTE

“We love this recipe for its simplicity, it really lets the ingredients shine, making it the perfect dish to showcase organic, fresh, in-season produce”.

La Vissuta

La Vissuta is an Italian restaurant on the High Street in Tuam. Owned by Madrid native, Pedro Ledesma, who has an excellent relationship with his local fishmonger – Bertie Glancy at Galway Seafresh. Pedro looks at what is available for the Catch of the Day. He also buys a fresh seafood mix for paella and seafood risotto/pasta/pizza. One of the most popular ways he prepares ‘Catch of the Day’ is simply hake, or sea bream, pan-fried with lemon, salt and pepper and paprika. He might put fried cubes of chorizo on top and mussels on the side, or make skewers of monkfish and prawns to be served with seafood risotto.

The Best of the Sea at McSwiggans

McSwiggans Seafood & Steak Restaurant takes pride in serving the freshest seafood, sourced daily and prepared with care.

At the heart of the menu is fresh Atlantic salmon, baked to perfection, its flaky texture and rich flavour elevated with a delicate butter sauce. Then there are the Dooncastle oysters, shucked fresh from the shell—briny, sweet, and a true taste of the ocean. Whether you like them natural, with a squeeze of lemon, or dressed with a zingy mignonette, these oysters are a Galway treasure.

For those who love variety, the daily catch showcases the best the sea has to offer. Think pan-seared turbot, buttery and delicate, or a fillet of halibut, cooked just right and served with seasonal accompaniments. Then there are the steamed mussels, swimming in a fragrant white wine and garlic broth, perfect for mopping up with fresh bread.

And of course, no seafood experience is complete without the ultimate classic: fish and chips. Crispy, golden batter encasing fresh, flaky white fish, served with hand-cut chips and a side of house-made tartar sauce—comfort food at its finest.

Whether you’re a local seafood enthusiast or a visitor looking for an authentic taste of the west coast, McSwiggans is the place to be. Pull up a chair, order a feast from the sea, and let the flavours of the Atlantic do the talking.

Orecchiette al Crema di Cavolo Nero e Broccoli

We know that you all love eating fresh pasta – but, do you know how to make it? It’s not as hard as you think, so we asked Galway’s pasta genius, Tony Carelli, to share his favourite methods for a quick and easy recipe on how to make fresh pasta.

Why do we all love fresh pasta?

There’s an undeniable charm to fresh homemade pasta that captivates the senses and delights the palate in a way that store-bought alternatives simply can’t match.

From the moment it’s kneaded by hand, or rolled out with precision, there’s a connection to tradition, craftsmanship, and love – that infuses every strand.

There is a texture to freshly made pasta that is tender, with a comforting richness that envelops each bite. Unlike dried pasta, fresh homemade pasta has a supple quality that effortlessly absorbs sauces, allowing flavours to meld together in perfect harmony.

Whether it’s the simplicity of spaghetti tossed in garlic-infused olive oil, or the decadence of handmade ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach, each dish tells a story of care and attention to detail.

It’s no wonder that people are drawn to the art of making fresh homemade pasta, as it represents not just a meal, but a celebration of culture, family, and the joys of sharing good food with loved ones.

Are you convinced yet to give it a try? – Well there’s no better man than Tony from Pasta a Casa to help you get started:

Crema di cavolo nero e broccoli, by Pasta Casa, showcasing how to make fresh pasta in Galway

“I want to say from the off that you don’t have to make the pasta! The most important aspect of cooking is doing what you can, and what you have time to do – so if you don’t want to make the pasta that’s fine, just use a good quality bronze extruded pasta, such as Rummo or Molisana, as you’ll want to get that sauce clinging to every available surface area possible. Dried pasta that’s been extruded with a bronze die will provide the best possible texture.

For those of you who are up for the challenge – lets get started!

There are essentially two types of pasta in Italy, one with eggs, and one with water. Historically the pasta with eggs is northern based, and the pasta with flour and water is southern.”

This recipe uses a southern pasta and the easiest dough to get going.

The flour that’s used for this type of pasta is called semolina, but you can use plain flour if you can’t get hold of some.

How to Make Fresh Pasta

Pasta Dough: Makes 4

• 400g semolina flour

• 200g water

This equation works every time. Use half the amount of water to flour, so that you can scale up or down accordingly.

Place the flour on a work bench and make a well.

Pour the water into the centre and with a fork gently whisk a bit of flour at a time. Keep repeating until you start to see the beginning of a dough forming. Once that’s happened, knead for 10-15 mins until you have a smooth surface, and when you gently press the dough it bounces back.

How to make fresh pasta, by Pasta Case, Galway.

That’s it! Now cover with a bowl or wrap in cling film and let rest for 30 mins to 1 hr.

If not using right away, then place in the fridge and bring back out 30 minutes before making pasta – so that it reaches room temp.

How to make fresh pasta, by Pasta Case, Galway.

Orecchiette

Orecchiette means ‘little ears’ and it was one of the first shapes that I made when I was learning how to make fresh pasta. It’s from the Puglia region of Italy in the south.

Take a portion of dough and roll into a rope shape. From this shape, cut into small thumb nail pieces. Place each individual piece under the blade of the knife and gently press down and drag towards you. Once that’s done turn the shape inside out creating a concave with texture that now resemble a small ear.

Dust with semolina and leave uncovered whilst you make the sauce.

Crema di cavolo nero e broccoli

Ingredients

• 1 large head of broccoli

• 200g cavolo nero

• 80g parmesan

• 1-2 cloves garlic

• Pinch of chilli flakes

Broccoli, garlic and parmesan cheese, for Crema di cavolo nero e broccoli.

• 2 teaspoon maldon sea salt

Method:

Bring a large pot of water to the boil, then season with salt.

Pull the cavolo nero leaves away from the stalk.

Cut the florets from the broccoli.

Add the veg and boil until the broccoli is soft (approx. 10 mins).

Remove the veg from the pot with a slotted spoon and add to a blender.

Add 1-2 grated cloves of garlic.

Add a pinch of chilli flakes.

Add EVO oil.

Add flaky sea salt.

Add parmesan.

Blitz.

Using the same water you can now add the orecchiette. These will take 3-5 mins and when ready will be soft with a slight chew. Reserve some of the pasta water before draining.

Put the orecchiette back into the pot and add all the sauce placing back on the heat.

Add some of the reserved pasta water to help emulsify the sauce.

It will be rich and creamy. If too loose then keep on the heat stirring frequently. If too dry, add some more of the pasta water.

Serve with more parmesan and a drizzle of EVO oil.

ENJOY!

The Perfect Match for Beetroot Bliss:

This delightful beetroot dish needs a wine pairing that sings, and Woodberry’s recommendation hits all the right notes: Cantina Altarocca ‘Librato’ Rosso Orvietano 2019.

Woodberry’s Recommendation

Imagine 100% organically grown grapes from Orvieto transformed into a stunning wine. Its color? A captivating ruby red with delicate violet hues. On the nose, it’s intense and harmonious, bursting with rich red fruit and a hint of earthy vegetables. Take a sip, and discover a full-bodied yet balanced experience, where elegant fruit notes mingle with smooth tannins.

Why it pairs beautifully: This wine perfectly complements the beetroot’s earthy and sweet notes. The fruitiness cuts through the dish’s richness, while the earthy undertones echo the vegetable’s character. It’s a harmonious pairing that elevates both the wine and the food.

(Serves 4 – 6)

Ingredients:

500g beetroot

a few sprigs of thyme

75g butter

100g pine nuts

2 tbsp PX sherry vinegar

a small handful of chopped herbs (parsley, chive, dill, fennel, etc.)

olive oil

sea salt

Method

1. Lay the beetroot on some tinfoil and season with sea salt and thyme. Wrap the foil tightly together and bake in a 180°C oven until you can pass a knife easily into the beetroot. This will take around 2 hours.

2. Remove the beetroot from the foil and peel. You should be able to do this by hand, but it’s best to wear a pair of disposable gloves.

3. Dice the beetroot.

4. Heat some olive oil in a large pan and add the butter. When the butter is foaming, add the pine nuts and cook briefly.

5. Add the beetroot and season with salt. Continue to stir together with the aid of a spoon to prevent the butter burning.

6. After a few moments, add the sherry vinegar. Reduce to a sticky glaze.

7. Add the herbs into the pan and toss the whole lot together.

8. Serve into four warm bowls.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side

This week’s blog celebrates ‘A Taste of Galway’ by taking a ‘Walk on the Wild Side’.

So, stick on the kettle – put up you feet, and enjoy a selection of events that took place during our Blas na Bealtaine food festival.

Supporting our local producers is at the very heart of what we do at Blas na Gaillimhe, and we are delighted with how many Galway businesses have joined our network.

As part of our ‘Taste of Galway’ food celebrations, ‘Beechlawn Farm’, based in Ballinasloe, County Galway, held a Biodiversity Walk. Family and friends enjoyed a brief fáilte and walk through the farm, with topical conversations, such as organic farming methods that encourage and protect pollinators, wildlife habitat and biodiversity.

Pop Up Bao Bar @ Aniar

Delicious delights in a bao bun.

Another event celebrating local produce was a pop-up at ‘Aniar Restaurant.’

This event was a huge success! With incredible fillings and fantastic flavours, these fluffy parcels of magic went down a treat!

Highlights of the menu included: crab, buttermilk gel, lime, sea herbs, sea lettuce powder; and pork belly, black garlic purée, fermented kohl-rabi, peanut rayu; with a side of burnt cucumber, pine nuts, sesame seeds, hazelnut miso…

Keep your eye out on our social media platforms, because this pop-up was such a success that there is news in the pipeline!

A Taste of Connemara

There’s no better place to ‘Walk On The Wild Side’ than Connemara!

Inspired by the regions stunning landscape, ‘Brasserie On The Corner’ hosted an event using the finest produce from land and sea, served with exclusive wine pairings.

Coming to the end of our May celebrations, this was a menu that celebrated Galway being one of the best footie destinations in Europe.

Another event that reflects a rich food culture that is shaped by living on the wild West Coast of Ireland, was held at the ‘Pear Tree Cafe & Wine Bar’:

Cheese, Beer and Wine Tasting, with ‘Connemara Brewery‘ and ‘Sheridans Cheese’.

Concluding an incredible month of foodie experiences, where Blas na Gaillimhe highlighted some of the best places to eat and drink in Galway, ‘Cava Bodega’ hosted an amazing ‘Tasting Menu: Spanish Cuisine paired with Estrella Galicia beers.’

Lastly, moving forward we hope to have more educational workshops in November. This was a topic that came up at our Food Forum in April, where we discussed the future of the network with our community.

To kick-start this initiative, our member ATU: School of Catering & Hospitality ran an event in May – ECOSME | Business Sustainability Skills Open Forum for SMEs in the Hospitality Sector.

If you would like to run an event during Blas na Samhain | A Taste of November, then please get in touch info@atasteofgalway.com

As a community, we are coming together to showcase the best places to eat and drink in Galway, with a focus on locally sourced, seasonally inspired cuisine.

Blas na Bealtaine 2023 – was supported & funded by Galway City Council & EU50.
